Anthony Browne is the new Children’s Laureate! I’m so chuffed. His books are beautiful and shocking and mortifying. Gorilla and Zoo make me blub whenever I read them. Unlike the wonderful Carol Ann Duffy, he won’t get a butt of sack and instead gets more cash. I reckon he should get 108 gallons of Umbongo, or whatever chiddlers drink now, something to make him zoom round the garden, then fall asleep under the sprinklers.
